¸ñÀû: Most annoying problem of Neurofibromatosis type II (NF2) is hearing deterioration. Nowadays pioneers tried not only preserving but also restoring of hearing in those patients. We investigated the results of auditory implantation in patients with NF 2 and severe to profound hearing loss. ¹æ¹ý:Among the NF2 patients with profound hearing loss, two patients underwent cochlear implantation (CI) without tumor removal and the other one patient with NF2 underwent simultaneous tumor removal and auditory brainstem implantation (ABI). Preoperative and postoperative speech perception were tested and compared. °á°ú:In CI patients, there was improvement in speech perception scores and communication in early period, but performance was soon declined. In ABI patient, removal of the VS was achieved without complications. The patient reached satisfactory speech perception performances within 3 months after implantation and these results was sustained for more than 6 months. °á·Ð:Simultaneous tumor removal and auditory brainstem implantation is a safe and effective hearing restoration procedure. Cochlear implantation improved hearing in a limited and selected NF2 patients.
