¸ñÀû: The purpose of this study is to assess the relationship between white matter (WM) integrity and clinical variants in tinnitus patients by using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). ¹æ¹ý:Sixty-seven patients with subjective tinnitus and 39 healthy controls were enrolled in this study. The basic demographics and clinical information related with tinnitus including duration, laterality, tinnitus handicap inventory (THI), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) tests, tinnitus pitch, and the characteristics of tinnitus were recorded. DTI with 15 directions was acquired from all subjects, and the DTI-driven indices - fractional anisotropy (FA), mean diffusivity (MD), axial diffusivity (AD), and radial diffusivity (RD) - were mapped for each subject. Tract-based spatial statistics of DTI index maps was carried out for the comparison of between tinnitus and control groups, and correlation analysis between DTI indices extracted from cluster showing different between two groups and clinical information was investigated. For tinnitus subjects only, regression analysis for continuous variables and ANOVA test for categorical information were performed to study the relationship between the variables and DTI indices. °á°ú:Tinnitus group had WM regions with significant high MD and AD at WM near auditory cortex and limbic system compared with the control group. The increases of MD and AD in the tinnitus group were associated with BDI scores.Furthermore, FA was negatively, and MD and RD were positively correlated with BDI in widespread regions of WM. °á·Ð:WM integrity in tinnitus patients can be affected by the depression symptom.
