¸ñÀû: Allergic rhinitis is increasing steadily and it is important to identify the specific allergens of the individuals. Nowadays many foreigners visit Korean hospitals, we aimed to find out if the allergy test currently used can also be useful for foreigners. And we tried to investigate the comparison of the common allergens between Koreans and foreigners, according to the residence regions of Koreans and the nations of the foreigners. ¹æ¹ý:A total of 5,321 subjects who were performed multiple allergen simultaneous test at the Severance Hospital from January 2010 to June 2015 were enrolled. 4,809 Koreans (mean age 36.4 years, range 1-94 years) and 512 foreigners (mean age 34.9, range 4-73) were included. Advansure Allostation (LG Life Science, Korea) was used for the detection of 41 indoor and outdoor major allergens. °á°ú:For Koreans, the sensitization rate to inhalant allergens was 41.2%. The major common allergens were D. farinae, D. pteronyssinus, accounting for 33.2% of the subjects. Other allergens such as pollens and fungi were positive less than 5% of the Korean subjects. For the foreigners, D. farinae and D. pteronyssinus were also the most common two allergens, but pollens and animals were also dominant. 16 allergens other than house dust mite were sensitized for more than 5% of the foreigners. There were different profiles of allergens according to the nationality. For Americans, major common allergens were pollens (Sweet vernal grass, Reed, Timothy Grass). For Central Asians, grass and weed pollens were dominant. House dust mite was positive only in 11% of the subjects. In comparison study between Korean age groups, sensitization rate against animal allergens was higher in young subjects under 30 than the subjects older than 30. °á·Ð:There were different allergen profiles among different countries. Especially the difference was dominant in America and Central Asia. Further study to elucidate its relating factors such as environment of these countries is under investigation.
