The main strategy of tissue engineering in rhinologic field currently is the restoration of normal anatomical structures. To accomplish this complicated object, proper cells with physiologic functions, biocompatible scaffolds with perfect 3-dimensional structures, and the supporting microenvironments for implantations are indispensable. Despite the concept of tissue engineering in our field seems to be fancy and promising, there is no definitive and ideal material up to date.Therefore, this presentation will focus on the dual aspects, the current status & future perspectives of tissue engineering in rhinology to estimate the possiblity of application in real clinical field.
