Epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma (EMC) is a rare low grade malignant neoplasm of salivary glands with a biphasic cell population composed of a tubular nested bilayered arrangement of inner ductal cells and outer myoepithelial cells. Because of the rarity of the EMC, there is no standardized treatment plan and very different therapeutic strategies have been suggested. In this report, we present a 54-year-old Asian female with a very rare EMC arising from the sublingual gland and review literatures. |
