¸ñÀû: The aim of this study was to analyze the clinical characteristics
and prognosis of treatment in patients with herpes zoster oticus
and sudden sensorineural hearing loss ¹æ¹ý:The various clinical characteristics of 162 patients with HZO,
262 patients with SSNHL, and 15 patients with HZO and SSNHL who
received treatment within one week from 2016 to 2020 were
retrospectively compared and analyzed. Demographics and clinical
findings were compared between groups, and the recovery rates of
facial palsy and S, comorbid diseases, audiologic features, and
electrodiagnostic tests were compared and analyzed. Recovery from
facial palsy was assessed using the House-Brackmann grading
system and Siegel criteria were used to analyze the recovery rate
of hearing. °á°ú:When comparing the initial facial palsy House-Brackmann (HB) grade with severe facial palsy, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups: 84.5% in the HZO group and 86.6% in the HZO+SSNHL group. The complete recovery rate (HB Gr ¡Â 1) of the final facial palsy was 68.5% and 60%, respectively, and there was no significant difference between the two groups. When compared based on the satisfactory recovery rate (HB Gr ¡Â2),there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups at 85.7% and 80%. When comparing the hearing complete recovery rate, HZO+SSNHL group 6.6% compared to SSNHL group 33.9%. When comparing the types of audiograms, the SSNHL group had the most flat type, followed by ascending type, descending type, and nonspecific, followed by ascending type in the HZO+SSNHL group, followed by flat and non-specific. °á·Ð:There was no statistically significant difference between the HZO
and HZO+SSNHL groups in the degree of initial facial palsy or the
degree after recovery of the final facial palsy. On the other
hand, the recovery rate of hearing loss in the HZO+SSNHL group
was significantly lower than that of the SSNHL group. |
