¸ñÀû: In this study, we focused on recur pattern and salvage treatment
in
T1N0, T2N0 early glottis cancer according to the primary
treatment, TLM
and RT. Through this, we tried to suggest the basis for choosing
a more
suitable initial treatment between TLM and RT in T1N0, T2N0 early
glottis cancer. ¹æ¹ý:We retrospectively analyzed the medical records who was newly
diagnosed
for T1N0, T2N0 early glottis cancer from 2005 to 2020 in Korea
University Anam Hospital. Among patients, only those who were 18
years
of age or older, follow-up for more than 1 year, and confirmed
and SCC
on histologic examination were included. We compared patient¡¯s
basic
characteristics, initial tumor stage, treatment outcome, overall
survival rate and salvage treatment modality according to the
primary
treatment. °á°ú:Total 129 patients were included in the analysis, and 59 patients
(45.8%) undergone TLM and 70 patients (54.2%) undergone RT. There was
no significant difference between patient characteristics (sex, age)
and tumor characteristics (T stage), and primary treatment method (all
P>.05). 24 patients (18.6%) recurred, 6 patients (10.2%) in TLM group
and 18 patients (25.7%) in RT group, which was higher in RT group
(p=.02). As a salvage treatment, re-do TLM was performed in 2
patients, open surgery in 1 patient, and RT in 3 patients in TLM
group. In RT group, re-do TLM in 9 patients and open surgery in 9
patients was performed. In RT group, open surgery rate and rStage was
higher. There was no difference in overall survival according to the
initial treatment method. °á·Ð:In the case of recurrence, open surgery rate and rStage was
higher in
RT gruop. On the other hand, in TLM group, various salvage
treatment
modality such as TLM/Open surgery/ RT could be chosen. Therefore,
when
choosing the primary treatment for early glottic cancer, it is
necessary to take an approach that combines not only the
characteristics of the patient and tumor, but also the salvage
treatment method in case of recurrence. |
